FW: The Incredible Machine - What next for TEF?

The Teaching Excellence Framework has proved to be the most controversial policy in UK higher education over the last two years. With the results of TEF2 eagerly anticipated, on 8th June in London, Wonkhe is hosting a one-day conference to explore all the important issues and to look ahead to the future of the exercise.

Join the experts - TEF panellists, academics, senior leaders and policy wonks - to think about the experience of TEF so far, the devilishly complicated data and consider the options for learning gain, subject-level TEF and the postgraduate experience. And if that weren't enough, Team Wonkhe will run an interactive exercise on reimagining teaching excellence: Accentuate the posiTEF will challenge delegates to think of how teaching excellence can be achieved, measured and communicated.

The conference should be particularly relevant to professionals with an interest in teaching and quality in universities, colleges and alternative providers. Join the event to build networks with Vice-Chancellors, Deputy and Pro-Vice Chancellors, directors and heads of service, quality managers, civil servants and policy wonks.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Professor Joy Carter, Vice Chancellor, University of Winchester
  • Joy Elliott-Bowman, Policy and Public Affairs Manager, Independent HE
  • Matt Hiely-Rayner, Director of Intelligent Metrix and Head of Planning, Kingston University
  • Dr Mark Jones, Chief Operating Officer, Higher Education Academy
  • Professor Janice Kay, Provost, University of Exeter
  • Professor Simon Marginson, Professor of International Higher Education, UCL Institute of Education
  • Jackie Njoroge, Director of Strategy, University of Salford

And hear from Team Wonkhe's Mark Leach, Ant Bagshaw, Catherine Boyd, Nona Buckley-Irvine and David Morris.
